Budget Responsibilities
plan, develop and create the WCBOE Consolidated Current Expense Budget document
implement and monitor the WCBOE unrestricted operating budget
advise and assist Departments in preparing budget documents for submission
assist and monitor all budget transfers and realignments of funds in accordance with law and Board policy
perform various analysis of WCBOE operations and programs

Development of our FY 2026 Consolidated Current Expense Budget is underway.

In conjunction with the implementation of the Blueprint for Maryland's Future, passed by the General Assembly in 2021, the following priorities have been established:
Expanding Early Childhood Education
Recruiting and Retaining High Quality and Diverse Teachers & Leaders
Establishing and Expanding College and Career Readiness Pathways
Providing Sufficient Resources to Ensure All Students are Successful
Establishing & Maintaining a Safe and Positive Learning Environment for Students

FY 2026 Budget Public Hearings:
February 6, 2025 - Board holds a Public Hearing to receive input on the FY 2026 Proposed General Fund Operating Budget at 5:00 p.m. at 101 Long Ave. Presentation from the Public Hearing.
February 25, 2025 - Board Work Session to review Draft FY2026 Budget. Presentation from the Work Session.
May 2025 - Wicomico County Executive holds a public hearing to review their FY 2026 County Operating Budget at a time and location to be determined
