He is a graduate of Wicomico High School, and earned a Bachelors' Degree in Communication Arts from Salisbury State College. He started his broadcasting career right out of high school through an internship at local radio station 1470 AM WJDY in Salisbury. In 1984, he made the move to the nighttime airwaves of OC-104 Radio (Berlin/Ocean City) where he hosted the No. 1 rated Quiet Storm show for many years. Paul began his television career as a news reporter for his hometown station WBOC TV16 in 1994. A year later, he began what he calls his "Tour of the South, "as he and the family moved for two-year stints in Mobile, Ala., Shreveport, La., and six years in Charlotte, NC. He, his wife and three children returned to Salisbury in 2005, as he came back as Sports Director position where it all started for him at WBOC. Butler loves to tennis, golf and basketball and loves to give back. For five years, he operated the Delmarva Basketball Academy, helping young people learn, love and thrive in life through the game of basketball. Paul is a part-time entrepreneur and the owner of a successful home-based business. Butler says "money isn't what it's about; it's seeing others succeed and change their lives." Paul and his wife Valerie now have three adult children and are currently the proud grandparents to two amazing grandsons.
