Maryland School Report Card
The elementary schools eligible to receive star ratings in Wicomico County all scored a three or four out of five possible stars in the State’s new accountability system, while our middle and high schools received either a two, three or a four-star rating in this new system of accountability. Through this accountability system, elementary and middle schools are evaluated and ranked in the following categories: academic achievement, academic progress, progress in achieving English language proficiency, and measures of school quality and student success.
For high schools, the system includes academic achievement, graduation rate, progress in English language proficiency, readiness for postsecondary success, and measures of school quality and student success. Star ratings will continue to be released annually for each intermediate, middle, and high school in our system. Maryland’s new School Report Card system allows all stakeholders an opportunity to better understand how our schools are performing.
The School Report Cards can be found on the Maryland Report Card website, as well as more information and data about schools and districts. This information can be found at: MdReportCard.org
The information currently available on Maryland Report Card website reflects all performance data and star ratings since the implementation of this accountability process in 2019. Each school's performance data on the 2024 spring state assessments were released in September 2024, with individual score reports released to families. The new Star Ratings for 2024 will be released in December 2024.
