Dr. Stauffer on his new role as Superintendent: "I am so excited and honored to be the new Superintendent for Wicomico County Public Schools. In my first weeks in this new role, I want to reiterate what I said throughout the superintendent search process.  Our students and schools within Wicomico County are our community’s most important resource.  A great school system always has a great team behind it, and I am amazed by the team we have within Wicomico County Public Schools.  For us to be our best, we have to ensure that we are all working together toward a common interest, which should always be the learning and success of our students.  We have a fantastic school system, amazing students, wonderful families, dedicated staff, a vibrant community, and a great foundation to build from as we move forward.  Let’s work together to continue to make it better.  I look forward to leading this great school system and I’m very honored to be your next superintendent.

In the link below is a plan that will guide my entry into this new role.  This plan includes my values on leadership, the current foundational components of our school system vision and priorities, and the phases that I will follow as I enter into this role.  Please take time to review this plan to ensure our current vision and priorities are relevant to the work we are doing now and the work we feel will be important in the future.

It is my intent to make every effort to foster a culture of connection, collaboration, and transparency to ensure the continued success of our students, schools, and community.  I look forward to the many conversations and opportunities for community engagement in the months ahead and I appreciate each of you and the work you do in our school system to ensure our students have the best opportunities to learn and succeed.  It is an exciting time for Wicomico County Public Schools, and I’m truly looking forward to the year ahead. Please accept my best wishes for a happy and healthy summer."
