Parkside Planetarium Presents: "Forward to the Moon" at 6 p.m. March 26, 27 and 30. Be in one of the 65 comfy seats at a show as Kari Byron from Crash Test World and MythBusters launches us on a journey beyond the Earth towards a sustainable future in space.

NASA’s 21st century Artemis program, named after the Greek moon Goddess and twin of Apollo, is the next step in our mission to explore the universe and land the first woman and person of color on the surface of the Moon. This show is produced by Fiske Planetarium in collaboration with TEND Studio. Run time is 22 minutes. Suitable for age 8 and up.

Looking for something to do this Saturday, March 21st?

Join 90 of the finest 3rd-, 4th- and 5th-grade singers from Wicomico County Public Schools for a concert at 2 p.m. in the Wicomico High School Auditorium. Join the ACES Choir (ACES = All-County Elementary Schools with intermediate grades) to Travel All Around the USA," under the direction of Ms. Brown of Willards Elementary and Ms. Rush of Delmar Elementary with accompaniment by Mr. Evans of Northwestern Elementary. You'll love the musical tour on which our student singers will lead you, in sings learned and refined through weeks of practice.

Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. for seating. Tickets are $5 each. (WCPS staff members get in free with their badge.) We hope to see you there as the ACES Choir demonstrates why Wicomico County Public Schools is consistently named one of the Best Communities for Music Education.

Important reminder: Monday, March 16 is now a school day with 3-hour early dismissal. This makes up the first of three days missed due to winter weather conditions. (The other two makeup days, also with 3-hour early dismissal, are on April 2 -- with April 1 now a full school day -- and June 12. ) March 16 is no longer a staff professional day, as shown on the original approved calendar..

Reminder: Mid-term progress reports for the 3rd Marking Term come out Feb. 27. Be sure to review the student's progress report with the student and discuss expectations for the rest of the marking term and school year.

Important school status message from Wicomico County Public Schools. Due to ongoing inclement weather conditions, Wicomico County Public Schools and Central Office will be closed on Tuesday, February 24th. Please be safe.

Please note that this will use the final make-up day built into the approved school calendar. After this closure, Wicomico Schools will be ready to transition to a virtual instruction day the next time conditions necessitate the closure of school buildings.

Meeting date change: The Wicomico County Board of Education special meeting and work session has been moved from Tuesday morning to Thursday, Feb. 26 at 8:30 a.m.
