We are thankful to Educational Systems FCU and its employees for their generous donation of hats, gloves, socks and other winter items through the company's Warming Hearts and Hands initiative. The Division of Student & Family Services team of Wicomico County Public Schools (represented here by pupil personnel workers Knita Cartwright and Jacqualynn Deal) will make sure these donations are given to students and family members who need them.
Wicomico County Public Schools appreciates the generosity and compassion of our community. If your business or organization would like to support Wicomico students and families in some way, please contact us at comments@mywcps.org.

The WiHi Athletic Department is proud to announce our Vernon Powell Student-Athlete of the Month for November! 🏆 Each month, in partnership with VP Shoes, we recognize student-athletes who excel both in the classroom 📚 and in their sports. Winners receive a $30 gift certificate to VP Shoes 👟 as a reward for their dedication and Tribe Pride.
For November, we recognize Tavenon "Mouse" Outlaw! 🎉 Tavenon was a key reason our Varsity Football team triumphed over Queen Anne’s High School in the first round of playoffs, scoring an impressive three touchdowns. 🏈 He followed up with another playoff touchdown against Stephen Decatur in the second round. Tavenon exemplifies what it means to be a student-athlete, excelling both on the field and in the classroom. We are also excited to see what Mouse will achieve on the wrestling mat this winter! 🤼
While we did not have a November Female Student-Athlete of the Month due to the lack of girls’ sports competitions during the month, we look forward to resuming this recognition in December.
Congratulations, Mouse! 👏🎉 Your hard work and dedication make the Tribe proud!
Wicomico Teacher of the Year nominations closed last night, and we received 973 nominations this year! Thank you to everyone who took time to nominate an amazing teacher for this recognition. Our schools and our school system look forward to celebrating many of the teachers of Wicomico County Public Schools throughout the Wicomico Teacher of the Year Recognition Program..
