Friday, Aug. 30: Central Office and school offices are open, but teachers and most school staff are off today to enjoy the last weekend of the summer before the start of school. We look forward to seeing everyone rested and ready for learning starting Tuesday, Sept. 3 for most students.
Letter days for elementary students (including those at Pittsville Elementary and Middle) are posted before each week of classes during the school year. The schedule of letter days can be found on school web pages in Live Feed, on the school system's main website in Live Feed and the home page gallery, and on social media. The letter days schedule is provided in English, Spanish and Haitian Creole.
The Family Portal, an invaluable information resource for parents and guardians and students, is now open for the 2024-2025 school year. The Board of Education meets on the second Tuesday of each month, at 7 p.m. in odd-numbered months and 1:30 p.m. in even-numbered months.
Note: The date of the May 2024 Board meeting was moved from May 14 to May 7 due to the Maryland Primary Election on the later date. The meeting time was adjusted from 7 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to remove a scheduling conflict with the Wicomico County budget hearing the evening of May 7.

On Monday, April 29th we will be hosting a PTA/ Children’s Mental Health Matters Event from 5:00-7:00p.m. Please join us for an informational session from 5:00-5:30p.m. with our PTA Executive Board members regarding this current school year’ budget and how funds are being utilized to support school activities and events. Parent Conferences will take place from 5:30-7:00p.m. If you would like to schedule a conference with your scholar’s teacher, please refer to scholar’s homeroom teachers Class Dojo page for a sign-up sheet.
While waiting for your scheduled conference, all families are asked to join us for a Children’s Mental Health Event. An array of mindfulness activities will be offered for all our families to participate in. If you are interested in attending, you must sign up for a parent teacher conference.
Our next Title 1 Event at the Camden Community Garden. During our Bee Kind Community Garden Family Night, families will participate in fun and engaging educational stations. Activities include honey tasting, touring the garden, painting a kindness mural, visiting the Newton Center, a STEM BEE Station, and so much more. Families will receive a copy of the book Are You a Bee? along with snow cones, hamburgers, and hotdogs. Bee sure to come out for an evening filled of fun!
